Uncovering the Black History of Western Arkansas & Indian Territory
January 30, 2010 • 8:30am - 5pm

A conference discussing the history of African Americans in Western Arkansas and Indian Territory from early settlement to the Civil Rights Movement. Angela Walton Raji, native Fort Smith citizen and a Smithsonian speaker, will discuss topics ranging from the first Fort Smith to the US Colored Troops to Jim Crow laws.
